Overview
Categories help you organize restaurants within the CMS based on your property’s needs. For example, you can group restaurants by service type (buffet, à la carte) or by location (e.g., building or area in a resort). Categories improve CMS organization and allow you to create shortcuts or groupings that link to specific restaurant categories on the app front page.
Before getting started
Before managing restaurant categories, ensure you:
- Know the criteria you want to use for categorizing restaurants.
- Have access to the CMS and the Content > Facilities > Restaurants section.
Options for managing restaurant categories
1. Create a category
- Go to Content > Facilities > Restaurants > Add Category.
- Click Add category.
- Enter the category name in the text box provided.
- To add translations, click the flag icon and input the name in other languages.
- Click the arrow icon to save changes.
2. Move a restaurant to a category
- Navigate to Content > Facilities > Restaurants.
- Hover the cursor over the restaurant’s box and click Move.
- Select the desired category from the dropdown menu.
3. Delete a category

Go to Content > Facilities > Restaurants.

Click the trash icon next to the category name.

Confirm deletion.
Note: Restaurants in the deleted category will remain uncategorized in the CMS.
4. Rename a category
- Go to Content > Facilities > Restaurants.
- Click on the category text box to edit it.
- Enter the new category name.
- To update translations, click the flag icon and input the translated names.
- Click the arrow icon to save changes.
Review categories in the app
Once you have organized your restaurants into categories, you can check how they appear in the app using the Preview button. This button is available on the right side of the screen under Content > Facilities > Restaurants, allowing you to see the app’s layout as your guests will experience it.
