How to optimize a treatment center for visitors (PRO)

Overview

If your spa operates as a treatment center and accepts visitors (non-staying customers), you can offer them a complete booking experience without requiring them to install the guest app. From sharing the service catalog to enabling bookings and payments, this article explains how to optimize your spa's visibility and usability for non-staying customers.

Before getting started

Before configuring your treatment center for visitors, make sure:

  • You have completed the spa setup in Content > Facilities > Spa.
  • The spa is using the PRO booking system in Book an appointment setting mode.
  • Have created at least one time interval (Timetable tab) and enabled it for bookings (if you plan to allow bookings).
  • You have created a manual catalog for your treatments using the Advanced catalog tab (required to generate any catalog widget).

Who are visitors?

In STAY, visitors are customers who do not have a reservation to stay at the hotel—such as local residents or guests from nearby hotels. The CMS allows you to enable booking access and display your catalog through public links, with no app installation needed.

Step-by-step guide

Step 1: Enable bookings for visitors

  1. Go to PRO > [Select the spa] > Settings > Restrictions.
  2. Scroll down to Allow bookings from visitors.
  3. Enable the Activated switch.
  4. Choose the access mode:
    • Manually by staff (bookings managed offline via phone, in person, etc.).
    • App (visitors will book online).
  5. Click Save changes.

Step 2: Choose the widget type

Once you have enabled visitor bookings, decide how visitors will access your spa services:

Option 1: Non-bookable catalog widget
  • Allows visitors to view the catalog only (interactive, with images and details).
  • No booking option is available.
  • Ideal if you manage bookings manually or want guests to request appointments through other channels.

Note: Make sure you have selected only the Manually by staff option under the Allow bookings from visitors section in the Restrictions tab.

Option 2: Bookable catalog widget
  • Combines the catalog view with direct booking functionality.
  • Visitors can check treatment details and complete a reservation in one place.

Note: Make sure you have selected at least the App option under the Allow bookings from visitors section in the Restrictions tab. Also, ensure that the Bookable option is activated next to the relevant time intervals in the Timetable tab. The Disable app bookings toggle should not be activated.

Step 3: Request the catalog widget

To make your treatment catalog available for visitors, contact the STAY Support team and request either a bookable or non-bookable catalog widget.

Once activated, go to My App > Widget and generate the public URL to share it via your website, Google profile, or QR code.

Step 4: Enable payment options (if needed)

To allow visitors to pay when booking:

  1. Go to PRO > [Spa] > Settings > Payments.
  2. Under Payment options for visitors, enable the desired methods:

Next steps

After configuring your spa for visitors:

  • Share the bookable or non-bookable catalog widget publicly (website, QR code, Google profile).
  • Train your staff to easily identify bookings from guests and visitors for smoother service.
  • Monitor incoming bookings in CMS > PRO > Reservations.
  • Use Insights to track where bookings are coming from and understand the balance between guests and visitors.
